John Abild has repaired/refinished several antique pieces for us, including an antique wooden trunk, five walnut chairs, antique headboard and footboard of a bed, and an antique ice box, all of which turned out beautifully! We have been extremely pleased with everything! And we have found his pricing to be very reasonable for the work he has done on each of these pieces.
John is a real craftsman, and we have seen other pieces he has restored/repaired/refinished with expertise unequaled by any craftsmen we have observed. I would heartily recommend him to anyone who has antique pieces to restore or refinish, particularly if they want quality workmanship on a piece they can enjoy for a lifetime.
Restoration In The Truest Sense!

I have watched Mr. Abild do wondrous things to the pieces of furniture that clients have brought to his workshop. In some cases I thought they were nothing more than expensive kindling wood, only to learn some of the pieces were of the finest and most expensive Old English estate pieces that were being refinished for a nearby gallery! What a lesson I learned. Don't judge a piece of old or unfinished furniture by its exterior.
John's craftsmanship is without equal, and his friendly and professional demeanor is quite refreshing. He is a sheer joy to work with, while entrusting keepsakes into his skillful hands.
As someone who has known John for many years, and has witnessed his fine work up close, I highly recommend him for any kind of furniture repair, refreshing, refinishing or restoration.
You most definitely will receive high quality work, at a fair price, and in most cases will be pleased above and beyond your initial expectations with the finished product. I am.
